The name "This is not a blue bottle" was inspired by the painting The Treachery of Images by the famous Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte, created in the 1920s. The painting depicts a smoking pipe with the caption in French: "This is not a pipe". Between the boundary where images exist and the boundary where those images turn into reality lies an endless depth of possibilities.
