The new fragrance by Filippo Sorcinelli from the "Delire de Voyage" collection was unveiled shortly after the Easter celebrations. Filippo captures these sacred moments by olfactively interpreting select passages from the Gospel of Mark — most notably the moment of awe and fear experienced by the women who discover that the stone has been rolled away from the Holy Sepulchre.
This moment is embodied in a flacon containing rare and precious aromatic oils based on aloe and myrrh — the same oils the women prepared to anoint the body of Jesus. The bottle is imagined falling to the ground at the instant they see not only the rolled-away stone, but also the white linen cloths that once wrapped His body. And then, the presence of the young man dressed in dazzling white...
The flacon is surrounded by four "wings" that open in a ceremonial gesture, and it is covered in sand and dust — echoing the steps, the path, and the place. The striking focal point is the cap, which imitates the stylized form of the stone that had been rolled away, just as it might have appeared then.
This piece of olfactory art is entirely veiled in white linen, upon which the name of the fragrance — HÆC DIES — is inscribed. The outer box is also wrapped in the same cloth, reinforcing the ritualistic and sacred atmosphere surrounding the fragrance.
