The fragrance is inspired by the wooden drawers in the sacristy of the Basilica of San Marco in Venice.
It evokes scents that are almost Oriental in character — reminiscent of spices (from the Latin species, meaning "special, precious goods") once brought to the lagoon city by sea. In Venice, spice merchants experimented with these rare ingredients, carefully blending and measuring them before selling them in small sachets known as "Venetian pouches".
From that moment on, neither Venice nor the world could live without spices. They were used not only to season food, but also to elevate rituals and lend a sense of splendor and sacredness to ceremonies held within the basilica, adorned with its glowing golden mosaics.
This fragrance is a tribute to that legacy — where scent becomes a vessel of history, ritual, and radiant opulence.
