The "extrait de musique" collection seeks to convey, through incense, the many sound registers of the Grand Organ of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. The sixth fragrance in the series synesthetically evokes the trumpet register — one of the oldest organ stops. The first documented mention of this unique register dates back to the description of a large organ from the 1st century BCE, which was installed in a gladiatorial arena. The trumpet register produces sounds reminiscent of brass instruments, thanks to the vibration of a reed within a pipe, classifying it as a reed stop. It is known for its metallic and piercing tone, akin to that of real brass instruments, adding a bold character to the organ’s tonal palette.
The cap of the Trompette 8 bottle, like those of the five previous fragrances in the "extrait de musique" line, precisely replicates a stop knob from the Grand Organ of Notre-Dame Cathedral. The bottle is housed in a handcrafted wooden case, reminiscent of the resonator boxes found in organs.
